Introducing the New Principal at Vienna-Finley Elementary School for the 2020-2021 School Year
Tiffany Copple is a lifelong resident of Scott County and has been with Scott County School District 2 since 2005 after graduating from Indiana University Southeast. Over her 15 years at Scott 2, she’s taught first, third, fifth, and sixth grade in three buildings: Johnson Elementary, Scottsburg Elementary, and Scottsburg Middle School. This past year, Mrs.Copple worked as the district Instruction, Programming, Assessment, and Data specialist which allowed her to work in all buildings including VFES. Mrs. Copple has also used her passion for educational technology to help educators in and outside of Scott 2. This includes a stint working for the Indiana Department of Education as an Office of eLearning Innovation Specialist.
Mrs. Copple is very passionate about the role of a school community, and believes that all students deserve access to a 21st century education that prepares them how to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate frequently, and create freely. She believes that all students are capable of learning the skills necessary to pursue their dreams for the future, and that it is the school’s mission to provide the tools, space, and nurturing needed to do so. Mrs. Copple also feels strongly that everyone in the school community should be excited and feel welcome to enter Vienna-Finley Elementary’s doors and leave it feeling accomplished, loved, and valued. She looks forward to working alongside the students, staff, and families of VFES very much.
Personally, Mrs. Copple has been married to her high school sweetheart, Eric Copple for 16 years. Together they live west of Scottsburg with their four children Jonah (13), Ella (11), Olivia (7), and Micah (5). They are active members of First Christian Church of Scottsburg. As a family, they enjoy being active with sports, hiking, camping, watching movies, going to Disney, and spending time with family and friends.
Attention: Students in Grades 3-5!
Yearbooks and girls' basketball pictures will also be in the bags with the rest of each student's belongings.
You are also welcome to return library books at this time.
If you need to arrange an alternate day/time for the pick up, please contact the VFES office.
Continuous Learning Plans for May
Our final round of non-traditional instruction runs through May 20th.
We still have a few packets that have not been picked up for this final round. The VFES office is open from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. every weekday. If these days/times are not feasible for your family due to work schedules, etc, please call the VFES office so we can make other arrangements.
If your child has been completing work digitally, the next week's lessons will be available via Canvas by 2:00 p.m. each Friday. For example, the assignments for the week of May 11th were available by 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8th. Please make sure you are using your time wisely during this final week and a half of school because we are collecting iPads on May 21st and 22nd.
Teachers will continue to be available to answer questions for all students via phone/email from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. each weekday from May 11th through May 20th.
Meals are also available every Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. until noon at each of the six Scott 2 schools. Food is also available from 11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at 13 remote sites throughout the county. A map is located on the Scott 2 website as well as the Vienna-Finley Facebook page.
