Meet our New Math Curriculum, iReady!
We are excited to share that our school is implementing a new math program called i-Ready Classroom Mathematics. This program helps teachers to create a rich classroom environment in which students at all levels become active, real-world problem solvers. Through teacher-led instruction, students develop mathematical reasoning, engage in discourse, and build strong mathematical habits.
i-Ready Classroom Mathematics:
Encourages students to develop a deeper understanding of mathematics concepts through the embedded Standards for Mathematical Practice
Builds on students’ prior knowledge with lessons that make connections within and across grade levels and directly address the major focus of the grade
Please feel free to visit the i-Ready Classroom Mathematics Family Center to learn more about our new program.
SAVE THE DATE: Join us on October 24th for a Family Math Night. More information will be communicated closer to the event.

A Message from our Nurses:
Starting in the next few weeks, the Bresnahan School Health Office will be starting our annual screenings of students. All students will have their vision and hearing screened. Students in the first grade will also be screened for height and weight.
If your child wears glasses or contacts, please have them available during school hours.
Why is it important to have your child's vision screened?
A child’s vision can change every year; therefore, it is important that every student receive a vision screening every year to identify children who have a vision problem and need to be seen by an eye care professional. Early detection and treatment of a vision problem is critical to your child’s educational success, health, and well-being.
Why is it important to have your child’s hearing screened?
Hearing is important for speech, language development, reading and learning
A hearing screening can detect if your child needs further hearing testing.
Even if your child has passed a hearing screening previously, hearing can change.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the nursing staff.
