MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL, MS. MONETTE
This is our last newsletter for the school year as this year comes to a close. I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you on behalf of the staff at Brooklyn Middle School. Thank you for always being responsive in our ever-changing learning models this year, for our multiple emails, Schoology messages and Talking Points. I know that these requests and messages were many, at times guidance to change learning models and change plans on a dime, were difficult, inconvenient, and frustrating. But you did it! Your support means so much to each of us and know we do not take it for granted; because we recognize we asked a lot of you, your family, and your children. Through all these changes, you wore many hats and showed each of us understanding, grace and patience! Your students will end the year enjoying a BBQ picnic, a School wide celebration of BINGO, Staff vs. Students dodge ball game, and maybe a few other special treats! We look forward to celebrating each of them! Your children are AMAZING and cared for so very much!
This summer, please take some time to enjoy the many activities this area has to offer; exploring the many parks, lakes, bike and hiking trails, theatres, art and music venues, there is so many adventures to experience in our beautiful state, including the city celebrations that are offered in local cities. Before your students leave for the summer students will be given a book of their choosing through their English classes. Choosing and enjoying a good book has always been a favorite pass time of mine. So, I hope that your student can enjoy the many adventures a good book can take them on and ignite that desire to read more this summer.
In closing, Brooklyn Middle School and Northview Middle School will be partnering and welcoming over 200 students to our Game On Summer School program, which will be held at Brooklyn Middle School, June 21st- July 29th. The Game On summer staff have been busy planning some amazing activities for your students.
Enjoy your summer together to rejuvenate, refresh and reenergize yourselves. Remember to read a good book and know that you too, are cared for so very much!
Warm regards,
Kim Monette, Principal

Greetings All ~
A short recap on all we have accomplished during our inaugural year~
● Raised almost $900 with our Bulldog dinners out.
● Supported the back to school (the 3rd time event)
● Application for 501c3
● Donated a coffee station for teachers and admin.
● Celebrated our teachers during teacher appreciation week with treats and a lunch.
Next year we have many plans...our primary is a financial goal of 25,000 to be able to support school activities, after school activities, funding for teacher’s opportunity classroom/scholar enrichment, purchase of additional classroom and STEAM equipment, Teacher Appreciation week and many other activities. It is a very large goal but we know our community can make it happen. Stay tuned for ways to support this goal!!
As we return to school In the fall PACT will be supporting BMS return to school activities. We will be reaching out with sign up opportunities.
We will be looking for parents to step in and support some of the leadership opportunities as we look to prepare for our continuity plan...we have such a quick turn over in our 3 years that we need to make sure we are ready to pass the baton to the next crew of Bulldog parents!! Please join us to continue building this parent support group. Its been shown that a strong active parent group only helps to add value to our school community!!
Have a wonderful summer and we will see you all in the Fall. If you aren't already and would like to be on our email list, please sign up here!! Sign up to get regular information or link to a specific committee here
And remember…
We are BMS PACT... It is PTO reimagined at the Middle School level. Have you been wondering how to stay involved post elementary school ...PACT is it!! We are looking to bring some of our afterschool programming back, strengthen our STEAM programming, and do as many things as possible to support our kiddos, teachers, support staff, and administrators of our Bulldog family financially and socially. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month 6-7:30
In search of parents willing to work with (not to be) our fundraising chair, teacher appreciation activity chair, community activity chair, president, vice president, treasurer, and any other role yet to be uncovered. We want this to be sustainable, so we need to ensure we have PACT members coming in as PACT members are graduating out!!! Middle school is a super short time, but we can make some great things happen for these kiddos!!
We can be reached via email at BMSpact@gmail.com

ART SHOW
BMS STUDENT EARNS A BMS SWEATSHIRT
Brooklyn Middle Students have been showing the Bulldog Way all school year by being responsible, respectful, and acting with integrity! When students are recognized, they receive Bulldog Way tickets from their teachers or staff members that see them going above and beyond. This year, students had to save up and turn in their tickets using an order form to receive their prizes. An'Nayah Morris, 6th grader at BMS, pictured with 6th Grade Counselor Liz Johnson, recently saved up 50 Bulldog way tickets, enough for a BMS logo sweatshirt.
Way to go An'Nayah, keep it up!
