CONGRATULATIONS MS. MEG JONES & BHS CHOIR
We had a great day at State Choral Performance Assessment yesterday at Columbia High School. For the assessment, each choir sings two pieces and is scored by 3 performance judges. The choir then goes to a sight-reading judge where they have 5 minutes to study, without singing, a piece of music they have never seen or heard. They get two chances to sing the piece and are giving a score which corresponds to a rating.
All of the Buckhorn groups (Concert, Chamber, Men's, Women's) received overall superior ratings! The Concert Choir received straight superior ratings from all judges for the 6th straight year and also scored a PERFECT SCORE in sight-reading!!! Ms. Jones could not be any prouder of how well the students represented Buckhorn with their musicianship and maturity.
Since Ms. Jones began taking the Buckhorn Choirs to State in 2012, every choir has received an overall superior rating and the Concert Choir has received straight superior ratings. We are proud to establish tradition of excellence in our program!! #BuckPride

Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
http://www.hsvutil.org/myhsvu…/checkbill/roundup/signup.html
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
