Dear Worthington Park Families,

Hello Shark Families. We hope that you have all enjoyed a safe and happy summer vacation up to this point. We are ecstatic to welcome back our WoPark Sharks next month. Below, you will find useful information about the start of school, upcoming school events, and much more. I will be sending out versions of our "Shark Sentinel" Parent Newsletter on the 2nd & 4th Friday of every month. We will also post them to our website under the Principal's Corner tab.

First Day of School

We are excited to reopen Worthington Park Elementary on Wednesday, August 18th for all students grades 1-5. Below is the structure of the schools days here at Park:


Student Arrival can begin at 7:35 am Tardy Bell rings at 7:55 am

Student Dismissal begins at 2:25 pm

**Kindergarten Parents, please see the information below in regards to the first week of school's staggered Kindergarten start

KINDERGARTEN STAGGERED START

All Worthington Elementary Schools will be doing a staggered start for our Kindergarten students this school year. This will allow our newest Sharks to come to school in a small cohort and learn about their classroom and their building. This will be true for both half-day and full-day kindergarten students


  • Student's Last Name starting with A-K = First Day is Wednesday, August 18th
  • Student's Last Name starting with L-Z = First Day is Thursday, August 19th
  • ALL KinderSharks come on Friday, August 20th.

WELCOME BACK NIGHT AT WOPARK 8/17 5-7pm

You are welcome to join us for a fun evening! Class Lists will be posted on the Cafeteria windows, families may visit with staff members, learn about school and community programs and enjoy a sweet treat from Dairy Queen! School pictures will not be taken on this day.

  • Please park in the back of the school.

  • If you ordered a supply kit, the kit will be placed in your child’s classroom for the first day of school. You do NOT need to pick it up.

School Instructional Fees (MyPaymentPlus)

We appreciate your help and timeliness in paying student instruction fees. You may pay your instructional fees on www.mypaymentplus.com. We strongly encourage families to pay for School Instructional Fees, All-Day Kindergarten Tuition, Field Trips, etc., through MyPaymentPlus. By using MyPaymentPlus, you can keep track of all student payments in one convenient location and eliminate sending multiple checks for multiple students!


Parents, please log into mypaymentplus and pay all fees by September 30. Below is a chart showing the breakdown of all Instructional Fees this school year.


21-22 School Instructional Fees

  • Kindergarten = $24

  • Grades 1, 2 & 3 = $42

  • Grades 4, 5 & 6 = $36

Riding the Bus this Year?

Is your child coming to Worthington Park this year via our district school bus? If so, The 21-22 Bus Routes, including Bus Number, stop location, and pick-up times will be available on the District webpage after August 5. Here is a link to the website


First Time Bus Rider?

We are excited to share with you that First Time Rider Event is back this year and we are so excited. This is a great opportunity to bring your child to the Worthington Education Center (WEC) to learn about riding the bus, meet the drivers, and even practice getting on and off the bus in a safe manner. We will be hosting the event on Saturday, August 7th for all of our elementary schools. Worthington Park students can come from 10-11 am at 200 East Wilson Bridge Rd

Free or Reduced School Meals and Instructional Fees Application (Online - after 8/1)

There will be Universal Free Meals for the 21-22 School Year.

Worthington School District offers healthy meals every school day. We believe that children learn best when they have nutritious meals. Your children may qualify for reduced or free meals, as well as reduced or free Instructional Fees and/or All-Day Kindergarten Tuition.

All Worthington Buildings are Nut Free

Just a reminder that all buildings in Worthington Schools are nut-free as they were last year. We want to create a PEANUT/NUT FREE environments in order to protect students with life-threatening allergies. Parents and guardians are asked NOT TO PACK SCHOOL LUNCHES or send any food items to school that contain NUTS or NUT PRODUCTS.

What Does the School Year Look Like?

We are looking forward to welcoming back all of our students back to Worthington Park next Fall. Our first day of school will be August 18th, 2021. Here is a link to the calendar for the Worthington school district next year.

Worthington Park Beautification Day

Please join the Worthington Park PTA and Staff in helping "BEAUTIFY" the exterior of Worthington Park Elementary in preparation for the start of the school year! We are meeting here at Worthington Park on Sunday, August 8th at 9:00 am


Bring your rakes, shovels, gloves, yard waste bags, etc. We'll supply the mulch, water, and popsicles! See you there!
