D93 Weekly Family Update
November 14th - 20th, 2022
Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote on Tuesday. Voters approved renewing the supplemental as well as repurposing savings from our 2018 bond to address other facility needs in the District. Both of these measures will improve the quality of education our students get in District 93.
Thank you for your trust and support.
Idaho 8th Grade Students Outperform Most States
On the 2022 NAEP assessment, 8th grade students in Idaho outperformed students in nearly every other state. These results show that despite the persistent myth that Idaho ranks last in the quality of education our students receive. While education funding for Idaho students continues to rank last among all states, these results show that our teachers still deliver a top-quality education for our students.
New Principal at Ucon Elementary
John Murdoch will assume principal position
After completing his one-year deployment overseas with the Idaho National Guard, John Murdcoh has returned home to his family in Idaho Falls and will take over as principal at Ucon Elementary School. Ken Marlowe, the District's DIrector of Social and Emotional Learning and Support, and Thomas Kennedy, the principal at Bonneville Online Elementary School, have served as interim principals this school year until John completed his military assignment. John's previous responsibilities in our district including serving as the principal at Woodland Hills, following the sudden death of Oliver Roberts four years ago, and as the principal of Ammon Elementary School prior to that.
Welcome home, John, and Go Wildcats!
