Early Release/Late Arrival

Next year's juniors and seniors are eligible for Early Release and Late Arrival!

What is Early Release/Late Arrival? If you child has first period study hall or 8th period study hall, they can either arrive to school after first period or leave for the day after 7th period. We just need parent permission so we can include this on their schedules for next year. If students wait to do this when we return to school in August, they will have to report to their study halls until the form is turned in. Your child can stop by their team office to get a form or you can print it here.

A parent can also call or email your team counselor and give verbal permission for a release ID. Counselor emails and phone numbers can be found on the Elyria High School website under “Guidance.”

COMMENCMENT TICKETS: Each graduate will be given six tickets when they pick up their cap and gown on June 3rd. All persons, except infants under one year of age, must have a ticket. There will be additional seating for those that do not have a ticket on the visitor’s side of the stadium. The numbered ticket stub must be presented for admission. The picture portion of the ticket will not be accepted.

PRACTICE FOR COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES: Practice will be held at the stadium on Tuesday, June 7th at 9:00 A.M. DRESS IS CASUAL. Seniors are required to attend practice if they are planning to be in the evening ceremony. Those who have jobs must advise their employers they will not be at work until after practice. Practice will last until approximately 11:00 A.M. Seniors who do not participate in practice will not be permitted to participate in the evening ceremony.

COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES: The ceremony will be held at Ely Stadium on Tuesday, June 7th at 7:00 P.M. Graduates are to be present before 6:30 p.m. Please have your gowns pressed. Participation in the ceremony is voluntary; therefore a dress code has been established for graduation. Students who have concerns about complying with these regulations should see their counselor. Examples of appropriate attire include a dress shirt and tie, dress slacks, a dress, a skirt and blouse, a pant suit, dress shoes and socks (no sandals, flip flops or tennis shoes). Dress shoes can be either wedge shoes or flats but absolutely no heels which will damage the turf. NO JEANS of any color, leggings, shorts, or athletic wear are permitted.
