Principal's Message

Hello Loma Verde Community,

We're 4 weeks into the new school year and going strong! Thank you families for your support as we settle into our routines and procedures in an effort to keep all our Bears safe and secure. We appreciate your patience and cooperation by following our traffic rules during drop off and pickup to include using crosswalks and sidewalks when walking up to the school. Please do not drop off you child in the street even if traffic is stopped. They must be dropped off in a designated drop off location in front of the school or in the drive through area by the canopies.

School Hours are 7:30 – 2:45.

Free Breakfast in the classroom from 7:15-7:30.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Per local health authorities, masks are now required inside the building for anyone over the age of two. Teachers will provide students with mask breaks in the classroom when students are working quietly at their seats. We follow all recommended safety practices with frequent hand washing and sanitizing and reminders of social distancing. Water fountains have been replaced with water filling stations for students to fill their personal water bottles.

eSwipe will only be required when a student or staff member has COVID symptoms, tests COVID positive or has close contact with a COVID positive person.

Free Meals in School Year 2021-2022

Socorro ISD announced its policy that this school year, healthy meals will be offered every school day to all students at no cost.

However, we still need all parents to complete the online meal application. This process impacts federal funding we receive for our school. Please click the following link to complete your application if you haven't already.

School Devices-

SISD will continue to be a one to one district with every student having either a laptop or iPad. Make sure you have logged in to the Parent Portal on Tyler 360 and signed the eForm Mobile Device Agreement for the 21-22 School Year. There is an announcement on the parent portal letting parents know how to access and fill out the form. Please help us maintain the school issued laptops and iPads. They should be kept clean and handled with care. We understand that accidents may happen, but please help your child learn how to treat electronic devices with care. Students should not have food or drinks near their devices. Unfortunately, we're getting devices returned with cracked screens, broken parts, lost chargers, etc. Thank you for your cooperation.

September Core Value - Initiative

It’s a new month, and a new Big Idea! Initiative is seeing what needs to be done and doing it. I can’t wait to see how you all show initiative this month at our school, at home, and in our community!
