Middle East: Iraq Energy
Has the 5th largest proven crude oil reserves in the world^
Iraq natural gases
Iraq holds about 18% of proved crude oil reserves in the Middle East, and almost 9% of total global reserves. But, they are re-developing it's oil and natural gas reserves after years of sanctions and wars. But what exactly is a natural gas?? A natural gas is a gas found beneath earths surface that can be burned as fuel for cooking, heating homes, and other purposes. Iraq's natural gases are protroleum and oil.
Iraq Hydroelectric Energy: Mosul Dam
The Mosul Dam is the largest dam in Iraq. At full capacity, the hydroelectric dam holds about 11.1 cubic kilometers of water and provides electricity to the 1.7 million residents of Mosul. Hydroelectric is the term referring to electricity generated by hydropower the production of electrical power through the use of the gravitational force of falling or flowing water. It is ranked as the fourth largest dam in the Middle East.
Iraq Natural Resources
The natural resources of Iraq are primarily mineral. The country has large reserves of protroleum and natural gas. Iraq has the second largest oil reserves in the Middle East after Saudi Arabia. Natural resource is a useful material, that is found in nature such as water, wood, coal, or oil. These natural resources are petroleum, natural gas, phosphorus, and sulfur
Iraq geothermal energy: power plant
Geothermal energy, the heat from the Earth, can provide 24 hour a day, clean, sustainable energy production. Volcanoes, hot springs, and geysers are a source for geothermal energy. The hot spring bath in Mosul could be used in production of electricity or used for geothermal energy. Geothermal energy is a renewable and sustainable power source that comes from the heat generated by the earth. "Geo" means earth and "thermal" means heat. Or could also mean energy that is produced by steam or hot water from deep inside earth.
