Bushy Park PTA Email
Leading with Kindness | May 18, 2020
What can the PTA do?
I hope this email finds you and your family well.
Before Covid-19, the plan was clear. It was even downloadable in a tidy PDF. We were doing what the PTA has always done and adding in a few other activities. The best laid plans...
Since school closure, I've been asking myself and members of our community, "What can the PTA do?" What can we do to help? To keep the kids connected? To keep our families and staff feeling supported? To help those in need? How can we continue to Lead with Kindness, albeit virtually? To date, we've done a lot and I'm very proud and thankful of what we've accomplished. I hope you are too.
Today, I'm asking you this question. What can the PTA do? In addition to weekly family BINGO, a self-service version of Junior Achievement (JA) Day and other meetings, we're already planning for this summer and the 2020-21 school year. Please take a moment to provide us your ideas and feedback. We want to hear from you.
I don't want to be greedy, but I also want you to do something for yourself too. Please take 60 seconds each day to do something that brings you joy and satisfaction. Whether it's a moment of quiet prayer, meditation or visualizing your happy place. Have you reconnected with a friend or family member? Started gardening? Tried a new recipe? Journaling? Whatever brings you joy and satisfaction, take 60 seconds each day to reflect on it. By the time you read this email, I'll have spent 60 seconds on the Big Island.*
Please join us for Bear BINGO this Tuesday, May 19th at 1pm! Reuse or create your BINGO card at: https://bingobaker.com/play/1228516. Wear your Bushy Park spirit wear and bring your best stuffed animal. Join at https://zoom.us/j/97596491477?pwd=dXpwNTRueEQzOWJYei9WNzUrUnRaUT09.
Below, you'll find updates from some of our Community Partners. Stay tuned for information regarding our next initiative with People Who Need People (PWNP).
Hearts Up to our healthcare heroes and essential workers!
Have an excellent week!
Warm Regards,
