5th Grade PALs head to leadership conference
The purpose of this trip is to add to the cultural and educational experiences of our students here at Brookside. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to meet with students from surrounding towns and discuss diversity within our community and school.
Which is it ... cold or flu?
The common cold and seasonal flu are often mistaken for one another because early symptoms of both illnesses can be similar. Both are respiratory illnesses, but they are caused by different viruses. Severity of symptoms varies from one person to another, but in most cases, flu is much more serious and develops abruptly compared to colds. Flu symptoms may include fever or feeling feverish/chills, dry cough, sore throat, muscle or body aches, stomach ache and/or cramps, headaches, and fatigue. Cold symptoms are usually milder than the symptoms of flu, and a cold usually isn’t accompanied by a fever. People with colds are more likely to have a runny or stuffy nose, and colds generally do not result in serious health problems.

WWRSD has Heart
The Westwood Regional School District is so excited to share the images of the winning works of art for the WWRSD has heART exhibit. WWRSD has heART is an annual charity event that uses students’ artistic talents and creativity to help others in need. Prints and notecards of the winning images are being sold for charity and will be displayed at a reception at the Westwood Gallery in downtown Westwood on Friday, February 6.
Click here for the order form and a poster of all the artwork. Orders placed by January 31, will be ready for pick up at the Westwood Gallery Reception; all other orders will be delivered around February 13.
A YouTube video of the images can also be seen here.
Westwood Regional School District has partnered with the national nonprofit, YouthTruth, to help us hear feedback from our parents, staff, and students about what we are doing well, and how we can improve.
From January 21 to January 31, 2020, the YouthTruth Family survey will be open and we want to hear from you! The survey takes about 15 minutes and your anonymous response will be combined with responses from other parents/guardians throughout the district.
