Introduction to the Planet Earth


The earth is split into seven continents such as North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, Antarctica and Australia. Within the continents there are 196 countries.

Climate zones

once you get closer to the North pole and the South pole it gets below zero which is colder(EX: -5) but the closer you get to the equator the hotter it gets also known as the red zone.

Time zone

There are 24 standard time zones in the world. What is time zone? Time zones are the different times in different countries of the world for example Paris's time zone is called central European summer time but in Lansing Michigan's time zone is Easter day light time which means they are currently 6 hours behind Paris.

Victoria Falls

The Victoria Falls are mostly made up of the Zambezi River. Victoria falls is known as the greatest falling water in the world, located in southern Africa. A couple challenges about the Victoria falls is that you cant just swim in the river or float down the river of the falls in a boat because of how rough the water is. But an opportunity of the Victoria falls is that you can get food such as fish they also have lots of activities to do at the Victoria Falls such as bungee jumping, hiking and more. Some travel tips are you should look out for crocodiles Victoria falls is known for having crocodiles.One other thing you should look out for is slippery rocks you have to be very careful when you are walking.

Victoria falls has very beautiful scenery! If you decide to come to Victoria falls you should bring lots of sunscreen because there is very intense sun. If you plan on going hiking then you will need hiking shoes because if you just wear flip flops you are going to get hurt. Other beautiful waterfalls that you should visit are the Angel falls and the Niagara falls.

Gorge Du Verdon

Gorge Du Verdon is considered the most beautiful river canyon in Europe.There is lots of tourism. Gorge Du Verdon is located in south eastern France. Did you know that it is 25 miles long? Gorge Du Verdon is really good for fishing they are known for the best quality of fish. Also since it is a river canyon it is good for rock climbing. The only problem about Gorge Du Verdon is that it is hard to drive due to sharp and pointy rocks. Sometimes there is flooding from the river. Some travel tips are that there are steep and curvy roads plus really hot in the summer and the water is very deep. Some good things about the canyon is that the water is very calm so you can feel free to swim or drive a boat down the river any time you want. Make sure you bring a hat due to the blazing hot sun!

Other canyons you should visit are Kings canyon, Cooper canyon, Colca canyon, Waimea canyon, Antelope canyon.

Amazon rain forest

Did you know the Amazon rain forest is the largest tropical rain forest in the world. Also 10% of the world species live in the Amazon rain forest. The Amazon rain forest is located in South America. The countries that the Amazon is in Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana. Some opportunities about the Amazon is that it gives us a great food source such as breadfruit, bananas, nuts and more. You can also get medicine from the plants. Some bad things about the Amazon rain forest is that there are lots of mosquito's. Some mosquito's carry various diseases. There are also lots of logging happening in the Amazon rain forest. Some travel tips are to be cautious of the dangerous animals such as Cougar, Jaguar and Anaconda. A couple good things about the Amazon is that there are lots of rare plants and animals also the temperature is usually between 80 and 90 degrees which isn't to cold or to hot.If you decide to come to the Amazon you should bring mosquito spray to protect yourself from a disease. Other rain forest that you should visit are Congo rain forest, Pacific temperate rain forest and Tongass national forest.
