Rising 6th and 7th Grade Open House/Building Tour

We realize, due to the pandemic, almost half of our students have NEVER been on our building!

In an effort to make our students as comfortable and confident as possible on the first day, we are offering an open house and tours to our rising 6th and 7th graders on JULY 22 from 5 pm - 6pm. Our student ambassadors will be stationed throughout the halls to guide families along the way. We will also be offering band and orchestra registration for students who are still interested in joining these fine arts programs!

PLEASE ENTER THE BUILDING THROUGH THE FRONT DOORS!

6th grade parent meeting

6th grade parents are invited to join us in Coleman Cafeteria on July 22 at 6 pm for an informal meeting. This meeting will provide just-in-time information for the middle school transition.

PTA will be here selling Coleman PTA Memberships and Spirit wear!

Reminder - 7th and 8th grade staggered, in-person start

7th and 8th graders will begin the school year in a digital format (see below). There will be short, live instruction segments for the core classes (Humanities, Math, and Science) with large blocks of independent, work time. The instructional blocks will be recorded and posted for students as well.

Please stay tuned for the schedule and more information!

Student Passwords!

On July 23, 2021, student passwords will be reset to reflect their birthdays.

To access the student portal, students will be required to type their numeric birthday in the password field using two digits for their birth month, two digits for their birthday, and four digits for their birth year. For example, if a student’s birth occurred on June 9, 2015, their reset password would be 06092015.

Students in Grades 6-12 will be required to change their password immediately after the first successful login to the student portal. GCPS is strongly recommending students to generate a passphrase as their password. Students, families, and staff members can learn more about creating a passphrase by visiting our website at www.gcpsk12.org/Page/29972.

Summer Learning Resources

We have compiled the following website which lists summer resources for ALL students including our summer reading suggestions:

DON'T FORGET ABOUT OUR SUMMER READING BINGO - this is every student's admission ticket to our first WALK-N-TALK on SEPTEMBER 3rd!

General School Supply List

VIP Parking Spots Available for FAST Morning Drop-Off and Afternoon Pick-Up!

Each year we sell VIP parking spots as a school fundraiser. Don't want to wait in the car rider line? You can buy a VIP spot for $600/year! Please e-mail Dr. Mozley at JW.Mozley@gcpsk12.org if you are interested.

Will your child be a car rider this year?

We encourage all students to ride the bus in an effort to ease the congestion that is created on Hill Street and Brock Road. We ask that you read the following procedures carefully to ensure that your child will be safe each school day if they are being transported by car.

Please go to the following link to view our car rider procedures: https://youtu.be/0byEZnZCLqM

Please visit the car rider table in the cafeteria at Open House to register!
