Mark Twain Elementary
November 2022 Newsletter
From the Principal’s Office
Have you downloaded the district app on your phone? The app is a great way to keep up with events, find out what’s for lunch or just to be “in the know.” The app is compatible with iPhone or Android devices. Here is what the app looks like:
Our school held Parent/Teacher conferences on October 18th and 19th. Our students are fortunate to have supportive families to help keep them going in a positive direction. Thank you for reaching out and taking the time to meet with your child's teacher.
On November 10th, our school will honor veterans as a part of our Veterans Day Program. This program will take place on the 10th instead of the 11th in an effort to help accommodate those already scheduled for an event on Veterans Day. Please encourage your child to wear red, white and blue on the 11th too. Mark Twain does a great job of teaching students about Veterans Day and this is just one example of ways we help students understand the important role they serve in our nation. Have a great November and don’t forget...
No School November 7th, 23rd, 24th, and 25th!

Notes from the nurse
We have had multiple respiratory viruses already reported in the district. Please make sure you are monitoring your student for symptoms each morning. Students must stay home from school if they have a fever, vomiting or diarrhea. They may return to school when they are symptom free for 24 hours without symptom reducing medication.
Please speak to your student about proper cough and hand hygiene to help stop the spread of germs.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
- Throw used tissues in the trash.
- If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow, not your hands.
- Remember to immediately wash your hands after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
If your student has a health condition or should require special care during their school day such as medications, treatments, or monitoring, please contact me if you have not already.
Please remember that students are not allowed to carry medication in their backpacks to or from school. If your student is prescribed medication that must be taken at school, please notify me.
