From the Principal
Shepard Elementary
Welcome back and welcome to 2017! We are excited for the new year and are looking forward to a productive and inspiring second semester. The teachers had Monday as a professional learning day and a team planning day to prepare for the upcoming weeks.
One item that came from our last Principals' Roundtable was the use of effective and timely communication from both teachers and principals to the parents/community. So, Mr. Lillie and I spent the last few days before the break working on updating our Important Dates page. It lives on the Shepard website. Our new CTA, Mr. Clark, will work to have the page uploaded on the website this week. This will allow parents to block off the dates as a possible event to attend at Shepard.
Our 2nd Pride Rally is this Friday and teachers will invite/inform parents by Tuesday evening if their child(ren) are being recognized at the award assembly. Of course, it is our goal to have parents as partners at these events to allow them to see the event and celebrate the accomplishments. Mr. Lillie and I spoke to our leadership team and we will work to notify parents as early as possible when we have these award assemblies at the completion of each nine weeks.
We appreciate your feedback and participation in all of our events. As always, we want to hear from you about how we can make Shepard the best school in PISD.
Proud to be the Principal,
Miss Lancaster
