It's Eagle Homecoming Week 2020!

What a great job earlier this week by our Eagle high school student volunteers with the tradition of decorating the hallways for each class to begin Homecoming Week.

While many of the typical homecoming festivities were canceled this year due to safety guidelines, the pep rally was held outdoors on Wednesday for high school students, staff and families at Eagle Stadium. The pep rally included performances by the band, cheerleaders, Majestics and Remedy A Cappella. The homecoming court was featured and during halftime of Friday's game this year's Homecoming King and Queen will be announced.

Band Performs After Game: Be sure to stay until the conclusion of Friday's game as the Eagle Band will take the field and perform immediately following the game. The band will perform their production "All Things Bright and Beautiful!"

Argyle West Hosts Literacy Night...Virtually!

Argyle West recently hosted something new for this year - Virtual Literacy Night. As this school year unfolds, creative ideas are happening across Argyle ISD with the focus to connect and engage with our students and families. Literacy Night was a great success as teachers, Superintendent Dr. Wright, Principal Funderburg and others read books for the Eagles online. The event also included interactive games.

The district will take time to honor them this month for all their hard work, long hours and dedication to making our campuses special places.

Principals in Argyle ISD include:
John King, Argyle High School
Scott Gibson, Argyle Middle School
Dr. Dawn Jordan, Argyle Intermediate
Dona Lumsden, Hilltop Elementary
Renee Funderburg, Argyle West

If you have an opportunity in the coming weeks, be sure to send these Eagle leaders a special thank you or a wave in person to show your appreciation for the jobs they are doing!

Safety Signage Across Argyle ISD!

In efforts to continue to provide daily reminders for our Eagle students and staff of COVID-19 safety measures, we had the help of a special Eagle parent in the district.

Argyle ISD parent Taylor White with WP Partners offered to provide safety signage for all AISD campuses and facilities to help remind our Eagles of the daily safety practices during this pandemic.

The signs include directional and social distancing floor stickers and window graphics regarding face coverings. We are grateful for Mr. White and his team's assistance in helping keep our Eagles safe!

Bond Oversight Committee Serving AISD

Argyle ISD's Bond Oversight Committee has been hard at work in maintaining its charge from the School Board. The BOC serves in an advisory capacity to the Argyle ISD School Board and District Administration to ensure bond project work remains faithful to the priorities and planning of the 2017 Community Bond Committee.

The BOC is comprised of two School Board members, parents, business professionals in the community from a variety of fields and Argyle ISD staff.

The BOC meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Argyle ISD is appreciative of these committee members in their dedication to serving our Eagles!

Visit the BOC webpage for more information, including a list of the committee members.
