Welcome to the Crippen Tech Update

I will be sending out this weekly update on Friday to let you know what has been going on and what is coming up regarding technology at Crippen. Please let me know if you have something techie you would like to have included. Have a great weekend!!

1st Tech Training/Meeting October 2nd

Mark your calendars. My first Tech Training with each grade level will be held next Thursday, October 2nd, in the Media Center office. Please bring your laptop and be ready to share successes and failures you have experienced in your classroom with our Chromebook and tablet deployment.

Google Classroom

I am truly excited to see teachers using Google Classroom. Thank you to those teachers who have invited me into their classes to see how Google Classroom is working for them.

LaSonya has provided us with a cheat sheet for Google Classroom. It should be beneficial to teachers who are already using the app and for teachers who would like to use the app. Please let me know if you want to implement Google Classroom in your room and I will be glad to assist you.

Crippen Symbaloo Pages

For those of you still not familiar or comfortable with what a Symbaloo is watch the short video below. I am maintaining two separate Symbaloo's for our campus; Pk-2 and 3-5. I have already worked with many teachers to set the Symbaloo as a bookmark on their student's Chromebooks. Let me know if you would like me to do a short lesson in your room to get our Symbaloo bookmarked for your students.

Also, for those teachers using Symbaloo please email me any sites you need added to the campus Symbaloo.

1st & 2nd Grade Chromebook Carts

Jennifer Neal was the first teacher to check out the 2nd grade Chromebook cart this year. Jennifer and I walked her students through the sign in process and helped them create a shortcut for the Pk-2 Campus Symbaloo.

Remember, you sign up for the carts on the shared Google Calendar and then check out the cart in the Media Center. Please return the the cart to the Media Center by the end of the day for charging.

Let me know if you would like me to schedule time in your classroom to work with you and your students with the Chromebooks.

Upcoming Video Conference Opportunities for Your Students

If you would like your class to participate in one of the video conferences listed below, please let me know. I will get you registered and set up to participate on the day of the event.
