Graduation Information
Graduation has been scheduled for Saturday, June 12th, at 12:00 PM, in the Stone Bridge stadium. Doors will open at 11 AM for families to enter and graduates should be in place by 11:30 AM. Those watching from home can use this Livestream Link, which will be live starting at 11:50 AM.
Graduation Updates for Students
- Graduates should enter through the school's main entrance and find their place in line by 11:30 AM
- Those who plan to decorate their caps must follow the Graduation cap decoration guidelines
- Students should wear a dress or nice slacks and a skirt with a button-up or blouse. Please make sure to wear flats, wedges, or block heels to protect the field
- Check the slideshow on the graduation page for more details on the lineup and order
- For regalia, the proper order is graduation robe, SBHS stole, any cords or medals, and the NHS stole on top for those who earned one. The cap should be worn with the tassel on the student's right.
Graduation Updates for Families
- Families should plan to park in the student parking lot at the front of the school. There will be additional overflow parking at Trailside Middle School with a shuttle bus over to Stone Bridge. Accessible parking is available in the bus parking lot near the stadium gates and in the visitor parking area. The parking at the rear of the school is reserved for faculty and graduation staff.
- The front gates will open at 11 AM for all guests. Please have your tickets to show to the staff. Programs will also be available near the entrance. Students participating in the band or chorus should enter through the school's main entrance and report to their director.
- The ceremony will begin at noon and run until approximately 1:30 PM. After the ceremony, graduates and families are welcome to remain in the stadium and on the school campus to take photos.
- Each person entering should plan to complete the symptom checker in advance.
- The stadium setup is shown in the slideshow on the graduation page. Families can plan to sit in any of the yellow zones. Chairs or seating will be provided in all areas; families are not expected to provide their own chairs. Note that the bleachers and track are all accessible for those with mobility needs. Anyone planning to sit or walk on the turf field, please wear flats, wedges, or block heels to avoid damaging the field.
- Medical staff will be on site to support anyone with a medical need in a tent near the stadium's entrance.
- Photos and video are available to order. All of the details are here.
- Feel share the livestream link with anyone who is not able to make it. The link will go live at 11:50 AM.
Please note - Stiletto heels or other sharp objects will damage the stadium’s turf. Seniors and families should wear flats, wedges, or block heels to protect the field. Personal chairs are not allowed for the same reason.
Congrats to Bridge Films!
I am pleased to announce that Stone Bridge's Bridge Films club took home the state championship last weekend in Experimental Film. Their winning piece in the VHSL competition is "What's Going On in Apartment B?" Judges reviewed all entries and Stone Bridge earned the highest score. The trophy is on display at school. Congrats on your hard work to TJ Santoro, Ava Bueno, Gabriel Figueroa, and Andrew Michael. The piece is available for viewing here.
Geospatial Projects on Display
Our students enrolled in Geospatial Science have their final projects currently on display in the JMU Geospatial Science Virtual Symposium. I hope that you will take a few minutes to view the outstanding work these students were able to complete despite the difficult time we find ourselves in.
Geospatial Science is a dual-enrollment course through James Madison University’s (JMU) Geospatial Semester. Students who take this course are high school juniors and seniors representing 11 of Loudoun’s high schools. Since 2006, the Geospatial Science course has provided an opportunity for students to learn emerging workforce skills in the fields of Geospatial Information Systems, Remote Sensing, and Global Positioning Systems. Development of these skills require students to think critically, problem-solve, collaborate with peers, and communicate their results with their peers and the community. The JMU Geospatial Semester program is one of only a few in the country that provide high school students with this opportunity. Alumni from this program have gone on to receive summer internships, college degrees in GIS, careers utilizing GIS, and job assignments in the military.
Stone Bridge Rowing Update
Stone Bridge Rowing Team determined to ‘Be the Pressure’
The Stone Bridge High School rowing team continued its competitive success at the Ted Phoenix regatta at Sandy Run Regional Park on June 5, 2021. Challenged by Head Coach Thomas to “be the pressure” this week, SBHS competed in 8 races against hundreds of other boats from schools across the Northern Virginia region and placed in 6 of them.
The Men’s Junior Varsity 4+, Men’s Junior Varsity 4x, and Women’s Novice 8 boats took 1st place; the Women’s Novice 4 boat took 2nd place; and the Men’s Junior Varsity 8 and Men’s Novice 8 boats took 3rd place out of all competitors in their classes. The SB Rowing Team's next event is the state finals at Sandy Run Regional Park on June 18-19, 2021. More information about the team, details about upcoming regattas, and photos are available on the team’s website.
Virtual Learning for Next Year
All Stone Bridge students will be returning to in-person learning in the fall. LCPS is offering distance learning through Virtual Loudoun for families who would prefer to continue in a distance learning model. Please review the details on this website if you're interested or reach out to your School Counselor to discuss details.
End of the Year Plans
Grades 9-11 Drive Through
Medication Pickup from the Nurse
Chromebook Turn-in
If you're leaving LCPS, review this Student Guide to learn how to save your files before they are deleted over the summer.
Students who are continuing in LCPS next year will keep their device over the summer, even if they are transferring to another LCPS school.
Yearbook Pickup
Our yearbooks have been delivered and are ready for pickup! We are so proud of our students for putting together a beautiful and comprehensive yearbook even in such a difficult year as this was. Most of their deadlines were before students were allowed back in person, but they persevered and put together a beautiful design we are all proud of. They can be picked up on the days below:
- Monday - June 14th, 10 AM - 12 PM
- Tuesday - June 15th, 9 AM - 4 PM in room 603
Library Materials
Please return all library materials by the end of the school year. For your convenience, we have three ways to return books, calculators and other items checked out from the library.
Library materials may be returned to the Meal Service buses on Monday, June 14. Drop them into the book bins when you meet the buses for meal pickup.
Library materials may be dropped off to the main foyer; there is a bin on the auditorium side of the hallway labeled for library returns.
Hybrid students may drop off materials in the library.
Summer checkout will be available for current students in grades 9-11. Use this link to request summer materials to be ready at the end-of the year drop-off/pickup.
The Library also encourages our students and families to participate in the Loudoun County Public Library Summer Reading Program. The program opens June 16 and you will be able to signup online at library.loudoun.gov.
