Thompson Friday Forecast

May 24, 2019

From the Principal...Steve Morrill

A reminder that there is no school for students next Monday, May 27, 2019. Enjoy your Memorial Day!

The last day of school is Friday, June 7th. This will be a full day of activities from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.

THE END IS NEAR

Thompson is abuzz with energy and activity this time of year. Students are eager to participate in end of the year activities and probably even more eager for the arrival of summer break. Teams are providing active learning experiences including team days and learning trips.

We have been reminding our Thunder students to maintain focus and finish strong. There is still almost two weeks of learning left as well as projects due, summative tests and/or final exams. We are also encouraging our students to leave a positive, lasting impression as they head off to “summer time!”

Enjoy your holiday weekend!

~Steve

Box Tops for Education App!

Great News! Box Tops for Education is changing the way they redeem Box Tops. No more clipping and remembering to turn them in. Now it’s easier than ever. Starting in June, (and rolling out throughout this year) participating brands will be changing their packaging. So what will families need to do next? 1) Download the Box Tops for Education App onto your mobile phone and select Thompson Middle School. 2) Purchase participating Box Tops products. 3) Keep your receipt. 4) Open your Box Tops for Education app and scan your receipt. It’s that simple!

If you have or see Box Tops products where you can clip the Box Top - please continue to do so. They will continue to honor all clipped Box Tops until they completely expire. So continue to turn in what you have.

Notes from the Nurse

Do not forget to pick up all medications by the last day of school. Those medicines not picked up by an adult by June 7th by 3:45 pm will be disposed of. No medication will be released to students unless a previously signed self-administration form is on file (Epi Pens or inhalers). All medication orders must be renewed each school year. Forms are available on the district web site under “Parents”, then “forms” or by contacting the health office.

The health offices are closed during the summer months. I will return for limited hours beginning in August. Please contact me if there are new medical concerns for your child. Appointments for the required 6th grade and 9th grade physicals tend to fill up quickly and should be scheduled now! Please turn in paperwork as it is completed. Physicals are required to be submitted for review prior to the first day of school.

Have a healthy summer!
