651-702-8212A note from Principal Walsh
Hello Carver Families,
September is coming to a close this week and school routines are up and running. There are a couple of things I would like to share with families.
The health office is in need of gently used pants and new underwear in the package. All childrens’ sizes are needed. If you are able to donate items, please drop them off at the Carver main office.
Parent voice needed: The District 622 Advisory Committee serves to convey community beliefs and opinions as they relate to curriculum issues. The committee is composed of parents, students, teachers, administrators, and community members who seek to review and improve instruction, curriculum, and assessment in District 622. Advisory members gain knowledge about the district’s curriculum and its development, and give input to positively influence change within each curriculum area based on knowledge, research, and community needs. Check out the website to learn more and how you can join the committee.
Thanks for such a great start to the school year!

Bus Transportation
- **Important** - If your student is using a bus stop other than your home address (such as a daycare), you need to fill out a Day Care/Alternate Address Request. This form needs to be filled out every year.
- See the District 622 Transportation web page for additional information and to address transportation concerns.
Visitor Information
What does this mean? Please be prepared to scan identification and check in to get a detailed printed badge each time you enter the building. This will take some getting used to but we hope you understand the commitment to safety for our students and staff.
Notice Regarding Free Lunch Benefits
For the past 2 years, the federal government has funded a plan to provide free school meals for K-12 school students. They have stopped providing this funding beginning in the 22-23 school year. School meals will not be free for all students.
The good news is your family may still qualify. We are asking all 622 families to complete the Application for Educational Benefits through Titan for this upcoming school year. Completing this application also provides additional funding to our schools in various ways. It also can qualify your student for reduced district athletics and activities fees, and testing fees, among others.
Health Office Notes - SUBMIT FORMS TO SCHOOL
If your student has asthma or allergies, your physician should fill out the asthma action plan. All Health forms are available on our district website HERE. You are welcome to print them out and bring them to school or save as a PDF and email them to the nurse, Megan Bronson - mbronson@isd622.org. We will also have copies available at Carver.
Medication?
If your child has a health condition and will be needing medication at school, please have your physician fill out the "Medication Administration Form" and return it to school. Forms can be found HERE.
