Reasons for deforestation:
Effects from deforestation:
Deforestation has many negative effects on the environment. The most dramatic impact is a loss of habitat for millions of species. Seventy percent of Earth’s land animals and plants live in forests, and many cannot survive the deforestation that destroys their homes. Deforestation also drives climate changee. Forest soils are moist, but without protection from sun-blocking tree cover they quickly dry out. Trees also help perpetuate the water cycle by returning water vapor back into the atmosphere. Without trees to fill these roles, many former forest lands can quickly become barren deserts.
SOlution to deforestation:
The quickest solution to deforestation would be stop cutting down trees. The deforestation rates have lowers over the years and financial realities make this unlikely to occur. A more workable solution is to carefully manage forest resources by eliminating clear-cutting to make sure that forest environments remain intact. The cutting that does occur should be balanced by the planting of enough young trees to replace the older ones felled in any given forest. The number of new tree plantations is growing each year, but their total still equals a tiny fraction of the Earth’s forested land.
Forks, WA forest:
Forks Washington is greatly known for its forests. Everywhere in Forks, you see trees tons of them. And certain people put them to waste by cutting the forest down to make more space for whatever they have to replace it, but once you take down a forest your not only destroying the beautiful trees, but a lot of animals homes. They've made their home there and once you take them down they have to adapt somewhere else. The forest here are well known for the famous movie sequel Twilight. The picture is a scene from the first Twilight movie.
Colville National forest:
During President Theodore Roosevelts two terms in office, he set aside millions of acres of forest reserves. Roosevelt proclaimed sixteen million acres of new reserves, sometimes referred to as midnight reserves, before signing and appropriations bill from congress that would prohibit the president from creating any new forest preserves in those states. The Colville Forest Reserve. created on 1 March,1907 it was created.
