Hello Roy Cloud Families!
Thank you to all families who attended Back to School Night last night. I had an opportunity to review presentations before the evening began and even jump into some presentations throughout the evening. I know you all received a comprehensive picture of what each day will be like for your child. I know you also heard that many of the standard schoolwide activities we love, remain on hold.
The beginning of the school year is exciting and it can also stressful with new routines, new requirements and daily changes due to the instability of the current health situation. It can be unsettling, to be sure. At school, we are doing what we can everyday to help your children be safe and protected from the "outside world" providing them with a secure and happy place where they can focus on friendships, fun and, of course, learning. I know you will email your teacher, Mrs. Jackson or me, if there is anything you need us to do to better support your child.
I sent an earlier note about the Daily Wellness form and the plan to be support it, districtwide, through PowerSchool . As many of you experienced and shared with me, it was quite cumbersome. Please continue to use the Google Wellness Form. I have provided the links again for your reference. We appreciate you completing it daily, even if your child is vaccinated. Your honest responses provide an extra level of precaution for you and for the Roy Cloud community.
COVID notifications from schools are a sobering reality. I am required to send two notifications when we are notified of a positive case. I send one letter to all Roy Cloud families notifying of an identified positive case on campus. I also send a notification to any family who has a child who is considered a "close contact" of the positive case. Close contacts are determined after our Director of Student Services interviews the family/child of the positive case. The close contact letter outlines next steps for the close contact, including testing and monitoring. For purposes of confidentiality, we do not send exposure notices to an entire class.
As a reminder, you may register your child to receive Rapid Antigen Testing. This is a precautionary measure that is available to all RCSD students. Please use the following link to register for testing.

Stay safe, be well,
