Ozark Tiger E-News
Hot Soup Cold Nights
Did you know Ozark’s School Social Workers are part of the Christian County Homeless Alliance? Each year the Alliance hosts Hot Soup Cold Nights, an event to raise money to help provide temporary assistance to families and teens without shelter. Ozark High School students get involved too. Students made ceramic bowls (which sold out within the first 5 minutes) as well as donated other items they made in Ceramics class and Woodworking class for the silent auction. This year’s event raised over $2,800. We love seeing our school and community come together for events like this!
The Pillowcase Project
South Elementary fourth graders are learning about natural disasters and had a special guest this week: The American Red Cross. Red Cross representatives talked about the types of disasters which occur in our area and how to be prepared for them. As a part of the presentation, the students were given a booklet, as well as a pillowcase to use for emergency materials, known as the Pillowcase Project.
Thank you to the American Red Cross for taking time out to talk to our students!
