Our Lady of Mercy
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 2 | 29 JULY 2020
We are having a wonderful time in Pre Primary! We are learning all of our numbers and how to read and write whilst having fun with our friends. This term we are focusing on how to make our world a better place by reducing, reusing and recycling.
A Prayer for My Friends
Lord Jesus,
Thank you for my friends,
for the games and fun that we play,
for the stories we share,
for the laughs and giggles,
for the good times and bad.
Please help me to be a good friend to them.
Amen
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
Fantastic Book Week and Cake Stall
We had a fantastic Book Week celebration last Thursday and it was wonderful to see so many children dress up as their favourite book character and celebrate reading which opens the doors to new knowledge and the mind to amazing adventures.
To top this fun day we were overwhelmed by the generosity of our families who baked and contributed so many delicious treats for our cake stall. Many thanks to our wonderful P&F committee members and parent volunteers for organising and running this event. I think the children’s smiles communicated what a wonderful day they had.
Pre-Primary
This week our wonderful Pre-Primary children feature in our newsletter. We are especially proud of the Early Years where our young children have the opportunity to engage in age-appropriate play-based learning and also receive an excellent foundation in early literacy and numeracy skills and understanding. We still have some places in our Kindy class for 2021, so if you have not yet enrolled your child or if you know of friends or family looking for an excellent school and education, please advise them to contact our office.
Farewell Mrs Hayes
This week we farewell a long serving staff member, Mrs Loretta Hayes. We thank her for educating and nurturing so many of our children over the years, she truly inspired children to have a love for reading. We will miss her but wish her all the very best for her retirement.
Year 3 Receive Sacrament of Reconciliation
We ask that you keep our Year 3 students in your prayers as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Through the grace of this Sacrament they will encounter God’s love and mercy. Thank you to Ms Mikulich and Ms Millen who have prepared the children so well.
God bless you all.
