Greetings Imagine Broward Families!

Shine On Students

We want to congratulate Jiya Anand from 8th grade and Ethan Ortega from 5th grade for being selected as our Shine On students for their exemplary community service to their school and community. They have gone above and beyond to help others and be involved in community projects. The City of Coral Springs will be honoring these students in an upcoming drivey by parade Shine On School Recognition ceremony taking place outside of Coral Springs City Hall. Congratulations Jiya and Ethan!


Teacher Appreciation Week

Next week is teacher appreciation week for our outstanding amazing excellent Imagine Broward teachers. Our PTO is providing a lunch on Thursday and our Regional Office is serving up breakfast on Tuesday. Please don't hesitate to show your love as well. We can't thank our teachers enough for all they do each and every day!


Family Survey

Your feedback is important to us. We love to hear all the great things we are doing and areas in which we can improve. The annual Imagine Schools family survey is here. We are hoping for 100% participation rate. Volunteer hours for completing.

FSA Testing

On February 15, 2021, the Florida Department of Education issued Executive Order No. 2021-EO-01 that modified requirements for the State of Florida Spring Assessment. It is effective immediately and will remain effective through the 2021 summer semester. The order extends the testing windows which will allow for fewer students to be on campus on any particular testing day. The State of Florida does not allow for testing from home or another non-school site. If a student is not physically present by being in school for the exam, the student will be marked absent. Students who are currently learning remotely must come into the school building to take their scheduled test(s). The State of Florida does not provide a parental opt-out mechanism, including writing to your child’s school or to the District. Schools will follow existing COVID-19 related health and safety protocols at all times, including mandatory wearing of face masks, temperature checks, physical distancing, daily cleaning and sanitation of classrooms and throughout the school before and after test administration.

Please note that on FSA testing days there will no or limited Specials classes and ESE services.


Carline Schedule for Testing:

In order to keep with our safety protocols, remote students will be dropped off in the back carline in the mornings for testing. Pick up at the end of testing for online students will be in the front carline. In person students will have normal hours for school.

Calculators for FSA Testing

For FSA Mathematics assessment students in Grade 3rd – 6th grade will not be permitted to use a calculator but students in 7th & 8th grade, Algebra 1, Geometry EOC and 8th grade NGSS Science will be permitted to use the specific FDOE-approved calculators. The school will have a few calculators to provide but if you would like to provide your child with their own calculator the below are the FDOE-approved calculators.

7th & 8th grade, Algebra 1, Geometry EOC

  • Texas Instruments TI-30Xa
  • Casico fx-260 solar
  • Casio fx-82 solar
  • Sharp EL-510R
  • Sharp EL-510RN

8th Grade NGSS Science

  • Any four-function calculator; scientific calculators are not permitted.


COVID

Imagine Broward has worked diligently to have procedures and protocols in place to keep staff, students, and families safe. Social distancing, masks, temperature checks, classes in pods, sanitizing stations, etc. are just to name a few. As the end of the school year is nearing and FSA testing is upon us, it is important for parents to stay vigilante and follow our school policies. If your child has any symptoms of illness, keep them at home and have your student continue their learning online. If a student goes to the clinic during the school day, a parent has one hour to pick up their child. If any individual in your household tests positive for Covid, parents are to contact the front office within 24 hours and keep their child at home for the recommended quarantine period and may return if no symptoms develop and with a negative covid test. If you get your child COVID tested and are waiting results, contact the front office and do not send them to school. Please note that no rapid tests will be accepted.


Form for Online Students to Return to Brick and Mortar

When the parent/guardian of an online student is ready to have their child return to brick and mortar, please fill out the form below so that the school and classroom teacher can prepare for their return. Once the form is submitted, front office staff will contact the parent with the child's return date. Fill out form here.


Summer Camp

We will be having summer camp this year at Imagine School at Broward. It will run for 7 weeks from June 14 to July 30. Please stay tuned for the registration forms. Registration fees and camp tuition can be paid through our online store at https://osp.osmsinc.com/imagineschoolatbroward


Yearbook Sales

We have begun accepting orders for our 2020-2021 yearbook. Please see the flyers below. Remember all students will be in the yearbook. Online students who did not come in for Foxmar photos can submit a photo taken at home. The directions are posted below. . Email roni.prager@imagineschools.org with any questions.

The Positivity Project

This week with the Positivity Project, we will be focusing on the character strength of Purpose. Learn more about the Positivity Project with the P2 for Families here. The Password to the resources is P2.

Volunteer Hours

Parents may log their volunteer hours directly through the link below. Use this form to log your volunteer hours all year long. Fill this out each time you volunteer under your oldest child's name. Front office will keep a record of total hours. Please complete hours by May 15, 2021. Please remember part of our charter is the volunteer hour component. We realize this is a unique year and we will be gracious due to the difficulty to complete. Make sure to log hours for Meet and Greet, parent/teacher conferences, student material pickup, hours spent purchasing or donating items to the school/classroom, attendance at family nights, Donuts with Dads, etc. If you have questions on how you may volunteer, please call the front office.
