Track Brings Home 6 District Champions & Advances To Sectionals In 18 Events
It was a great day for the Boys and Girls Track program on Saturday as they competed at the District Meet. The Vikings were able to advance to the State Sectional Meet in 18 events on the boys and girls side and had 6 District Championship events on the day. District Meet Recap & State Sectional Qualifiers
- Drake Heismeyer takes third at Districts in Discus with a new PR and is All-District and Sectionals bound.
- Mason Brock is the DISTRICT CHAMPION in the Javelin.
- Boys 4x400 (Meriweather, Weber, Boushelle, Bridges) take second place and are All-District and Sectional bound.
- Girls 4x400 (Williams, S. Russell, Schultz, T. Russell) are DISTRICT CHAMPIONS and Sectionals bound.
- Nick Cimmarusti is DISTRICT CHAMPION in the 3200m and is Sectionals bound.
- Sarah Russom takes 2nd place in the 3200m and is All-District and Sectional bound.
- Drake Heismeyer is the DISTRICT CHAMPION in the Shot Put and is Sectionals bound.
- Jacob Boushelle takes 4th in the 800m and is All-District and Sectionals bound.
- Maggie May and Chloe Figgine take 2nd and 3rd in the 800m and are All-District and Sectionals bound.
- Berlynn Hamilton takes 2nd in the 300H and is All-District and Sectionals bound.
- Caleb Meriweather is All-District and Sectionals bound in the 400m with a 4th place finish.
- Zora Williams is the DISTRICT CHAMPION in the 400m and is Sectionals bound.
- Boys 4x100 (Meriweather, Elliott, Weber, Banton) take 4th and is All-District and Sectionals bound.
- Boys 4x200 (Thomason, Elliott, Donnelly, Weber) takes 4th and is All-District and is Sectionals bound.
- Chloe Figgins and Adeline Ferreira are both All-District placing 2nd and 4th.
- CJ Banton is All-District in the 100m and has qualifies for Sectionals.
- Berlynn Hamilton takes 2nd in the 100H which is ALL-DISTRICT and qualifies for Sectionals with a new PR.
- Girls 4x800 (Schultz, S. Russell, T. Russell, C. Figgins) are DISTRICT CHAMPIONS.
Howell Grows To 50 To Further Education & MSHSAA Sponsored Activity/Sport At College Level
On Friday morning the Howell Activities Department recognized another group of young men and women that will further their education and MSHSAA sponsored activity or sport at the college level. Francis Howell High School has set the standard for sending students on to compete at the next level and is among the top in the State. The national average for those moving on to compete at the college level is 7.4% and over the course of the past five years Francis Howell High School has averaged over 30%. Congratulations to the following 50 students that will be representing Howell at the college level in their MSHSAA sponsored activity or sport. We look forward to recognizing several more students as they make their final decisions.

The summer, fall, winter, and spring dead periods and starting dates for MSHSAA sponsored activities has been released for the 2019-20 school year. These dates can be found below. We hope that this information helps all Vikings and their families coordinate and prepare for the summer and sports seasons ahead during the 2019-20 school year.
Summer Dead Period (All MSHSAA Sponsored Activities) - June 29 - July 7, 2019
Fall Sports Dead Period (Fall Sports) - August 5 - August 11, 2019
Fall Sports Begin August 12, 2019
