Holiday Concerts

Next week is one of my favorite weeks of school. It's Holiday Concert time. The students, as well as Mr. Jupp and Mr. Werni, have been working extremely hard on their music to bring you a wonderful concert. The date of our concert is December 6th (inclement weather date is December 7th) with the 5th-8th grade bands playing at 5:30 and the 5th-8th grade choirs singing at 7:00. We hope to see you in the gym on December 6th to celebrate the holiday season.

Note- Our general music students will not be performing this year, only our bands and choirs.

Winter heating in our schools

As winter approaches, our thoughts go to... heating in our classrooms. The district has set the thermostats between 68 and 70 degrees for the winter months. Please keep this in mind when dressing your children, or at least suggesting what to wear, for school.

Hour of Code December 5th-9th

December will be here before you know it and with it will come Hour of Code! This year we are aiming to provide all of our students with a coding experience and are asking for your help. If you are willing to volunteer in a classroom assisting with student activities (does not require prior coding experience) the week of December 5-9 or come talk to our students about your career in a field relating to computer science, coding, robotics, etc. on December 14th, please contact Mrs. Iwanski at

Holiday shopping opportunity December 7th

Wednesday, December 7th, we will be hosting a vendor event to benefit Merton School. The event will take place at St. John's Church (across from the Intermediate School) and be open to the public from 3:00 - 4:00. We have 11 companies who will be setting up their products and taking orders with guaranteed delivery by Christmas. The vendors are donating 10% of their sales back to the school, so your shopping also helps your schools! Some of the vendors have also done online shops to benefit our schools as well. Please see this link for a list of vendors and shopping links.

First Tech Challenge Open House

You are cordially invited to Lake Country Schools (LCS) FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotic Team's Open House on Wednesday, December 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

We look forward to seeing you and sharing with you about FTC.

6 Things Every Teenager Needs to Hear From You

Almost daily I receive an email from Daily. There are lots of things that help me as a parent and an educator. This article, "6 Things Every Teenager Needs to Hear From You", really hit home. Maybe one or two of these things will connect with you, too.
