Introducing The New Disc Sports Club!
Are you looking for a fun and outdoor activity? Then Disc Golf & Ultimate might be for you! Come by Mr. Rodarte's room (116) on January 19th after school to see what it's all about. Both sport are easy to learn and played as CoEd sports. Beginners as well as experienced players are more than welcome. Practices, scrimmages, and golf rounds will be twice a week at Wilson-Kerzee field and local disc golf courses.
What is disc golf?
Disc golf is played much like golf except, instead of a ball and clubs, players use a flying disc. The objective is to complete each hole in the fewest strokes (or, in the case of disc golf, fewest throws). Learn the difference between driver, midrange, and putter discs and the different ways to throw them. It's all about shaping your shot!
What is Ultimate?
Ultimate is a non-contact, self-officiated disc sport played by two teams of seven players. The object of the game is to score goals. A goal is scored when a player catches any legal pass in the end zone that player is attacking. A player may not run while holding the disc. The disc is advanced by passing it to other players. The disc may be passed in any direction. Any time a pass is incomplete, a turnover occurs, resulting in an immediate change of the team in possession of the disc.
