Give. Back. Pack.
STATE Bags and Tracy Morgan visited Brooklyn Collaborative!
Over the summer, the TV show The Last OG was filmed in Gowanus. Some members of the crew wanted to make sure there was a give back to the community since they shot many of the scenes in or near the Gowanus Houses. Our parent coordinator Tracey was able to work with them on a few ideas for community give back. One was partnering with STATE bags for a bag drop event.
Yesterday, STATE bags and special guest Tracy Morgan visited BCS and ran an assembly for our 7th and 8th graders. They brought a DJ who got students up and dancing, MC's who had kids laughing and having fun and Tracy Morgan who delivered a speech about the importance of rising up and being the best students they can be.
It was an incredible event over all which ended with every lower grades student getting a free, awesome backpack from STATE bags. They also had the opportunity to fill the bag with snacks and other goodies from the "supply store."

Today it was great to see kids walking around in their new backpacks!
Here are a few photos from the event.
Thanks to Tracey, STATE Bags, Tracy Morgan and the crew from The Last OG for giving our students (and staff) this amazing experience.
