Immunization Information
Are your kids ready?
Please look at the list below to see what “shots” your child may need to attend school.
Incoming kindergarteners usually need “boosters” of DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis), polio, MMR (measles, mumps and rubella), and varicella (chickenpox).
Incoming sixth graders need a Tdap vaccine unless they had one less than five years ago.

State law requires all public and private school students to present written evidence of immunization against certain diseases within 30 school days of admission. These requirements can only be waived if a properly signed health, religious or personal conviction waiver is filed with the school.
Clinic appointments fill up early in the summer! Schedule your appointments soon. The Marathon County Public Health Department gives immunizations, and local pharmacies do too.
Contact your school nurse if you have any questions.
