A direct democracy may sound like a paradise, but getting everyone to vote takes forever. Getting multiple view points or opinions can end up contradicting each other. In a direct democracy, not even everyone can vote. Most women and non-white men cannot vote. There is room for manipulation or corruption in a direct democracy just as much as any other form of government. Most voters don't even understand what they're voting for.
