ESL Toolbox
September 2014
What are the duties of the LAS and LAP?
Please check out our job descriptions below. Cherylholly put this together for us this summer to share with all of you. These are short and to the point summarized lists of what we do.
Becky's Schedule
Lots of things have changed this year so we have had to make adjustments to Becky's schedule. As many of you already know, she won't be able to visit every classroom during the day. Becky will be visiting our highest needs students during each grade level Bear Time Monday-Thursday. That's why we have asked that you try to clump these students together so she will be able to see them every day as opposed to having to travel between two or three classes every week.
Fridays will be either ESL extra support (K-2nd grade) or ESL study Hall (3rd-5th grade).
ESL extra support: Becky will either pull students for extra support in our room or visit a small group of students in the classroom.
ESL study hall: You are free to send ESL students WITH WORK to our room (414) for extra support. Please only send your students during your grade level Bear Time.

What about Mary?
I am here to support you any way I can.
Don't know what the ELPS are or how to teach them?
Need support with Academic Vocabulary and/or Thinking Maps?
Not sure how to write content and language objectives and use them effectively?
Want a SIOP lesson modeled in your class?
Interested in co-teaching?
Need ideas on how to support your ELLs during a PBL?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then I am here for you! Since I can't read your mind (I'm still working on that super power), please let me know how I can help. I'm only an email or phone call away!
