SVMS Spring Update

Get Your Vote On! Don't forget to vote April 3rd!

Set your calendar alarms, it's time to vote!

Responding to the need for additional learning space, safety and security upgrades, and maintenance of existing facility needs, the Liberty School District Board of Education voted unanimously on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, to place a $49 million no-tax-increase bond issue on the April 3, 2018, ballot.

This bond is so important to our district and we would love if everyone would get out and let their opinion be known!

Not sure what it's all about? Check this out: https://www.lps53.org/bondinformation. It will take you right to a page to explain it all.

And then get out and vote! Every vote counts so grab your friends, partners, and neighbors and bring them to the polling station with you!

STUCO Spring Mixer, Thursday April 19th. And they need your help!

The Spring STUCO mixer is set for Thursday, April 19th from 2:30-4:30 and will take place at SVMS. The STUCO representatives are looking for a few good parents to help them staff their stations.

If you think you can help please email Ms. Paddock at brittany.paddock@lps53.org or Lori Hillman at ljc3162@hotmail.com.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give them!

Teacher Appreciation Week, April 30-May 4th

Do you have a teacher that has gone above and beyond for your kiddo this school year? A coach that has shown your kiddo the ropes? A counselor, principal, or secretary that has helped you through your SVMS year? Now is the time to show your appreciation!

We will be providing all kinds of goodies for Teacher appreciation week. We will start out with a popcorn bar for them on Monday, move on to a dessert bar for them on Tuesday, woo them with a breakfast bar on Wednesday, celebrate them by providing a chip and dip day on Thursday and finally gift them with a Movie Night giveaway on Friday! Please see the sign up genius for any way that you can help out this week. We totally appreciate any help you can give and could not make this week as amazing without you!

Last SVMS Restaurant night is May 3rd at Cici's!

Come join us for the last restaurant night of the year for SVMS. We will be eating at the Cici's pizza in Liberty from 4:00-8:00. A portion of those proceeds come straight back to SVMS and who doesn't love a buffet!

Thanks for helping out your Eagles!

Buses, and Field Trips and Adventures-oh my!

In the month of May our students will be heading out on their field trips. The majority of the fundraising that SVMS PTSA does goes to support the staff and the finances to send our kids out to a field trip with their teachers and fellow students at least once a year. Previously we have sent them to the downtown museums, to Kauffman and Arrowhead, and out to Leavenworth. Plans are still in the making for specific field trip sites, but stay on the look out for Field trip forms to come home soon!

We are one of the only middle schools in the district that provide this opportunity to our students. We could not do it without the support of our parents so-THANK YOU!

Thank you notes, take two! And Favorites lists!

The SVMS PTSA is thankful for a couple of very good reasons this school year.

We are thankful for our amazing parents who support us through teacher's conferences, the Color Run, and through our various volunteer opportunities that come up.

We are thankful for our dedicated and devoted staff and administration who make our experience at SVMS the best. They have offered support to our students and education to the families.

Especially when we think of them planning, organizing, and implementing curriculum to get our almost 800 students out of the school for field trips. That's a lot of buses, and a lot of bodies!

If you have a staff member or administration member that has gone that extra mile or that you would like to thank please feel free to drop them a thankful card sometime in the month of November. We'll have a can available for thank you card drop off on Mrs. Kroge's old desk. Your kiddo can drop in in the can as they go by and we'll be sure that it makes it to the right person. A word of thanks goes a long way! The can will make it's appearance the last week of April through Teacher Appreciation week.
