Staff Update March 29th-April 3rd
Engage- Inspire-Empower
Digital Door Duty begins Monday, March 30th. LOL
BLT-Follow Up FYI
In BLT we identified that we struggle most with Type 1 Ss, as shown in the graphic above. We also identified our most effective discipline strategies and what we believe would help improve discipline at McClure.
It is our belief that the following strategies work best with the Type 1 Students:
- # 1 Parent phone calls home
- # 2 Relationship Building
- # 2 Private Conversations
- # 3 Deliberate Grouping of Ss
The BLT believes we should research the following:
- # 1 Improve School-Wide Discipline Policies and be consistent
- # 2 Deliberate Schedule Type 1 Ss as much as possible- no research needed
- # 3 Look for ways to build relationships w/Type 1 Ss (we know each teacher tries, but is there a process to be more intentional for these Ss)
- # 4 Clarify Policies frequently for Staff and SS
I will be contacting each BLT member via email or Google Chat to share a plan to help improve our interactions with Type 1 Ss and our overall discipline at McClure.

Use this form and have a little fun with your answers, but I would love to see a family picture from spring break. I miss being at school with all of you. I did not send this to our families but it would be funny.
I finished reading, but am looking for my next books.
Finished
When we think we have it rough, think of Mary Lincoln. She witnessed the assassination of her husband and had 3 of her 4 sons die before her. Her only living son had her committed to an insane asylum in Batavia, IL. She died broke and lonely. This book provided a unique look into slavery, freedom, and how a life of politics affects the entire family.
Finished
Parting words from Caitlyn. "Kindness is contagious. It changes lives. It changed mine. What will it do for you?"
Finished- I miss the staff and students of McClure!
The last chapter was about social investment. The McClure Staff and Students are the reason we do what we do. We have a great staff! Achor said it best, "we need social relationships to thrive. That's because when we have a community of people we can count on, -spouse, family, friend, colleagues- we multiply our emotional, intellectual and physical resources. We bounce back from setbacks faster, accomplish more, and feel a greater sense of purpose."
