Greetings Smith Families,

Our students and staff have been hard at work in the classroom with reading, writing, math, social studies and science. It is great to see fun art projects with winter scenes around the building and in classrooms. Students are learning new songs in music, working hard on new balance skills in gym and library is always a fun treat to check out new library books. It is encouraging to see so many students participate in our monthly Bean Stack challenge.

Our morning announcements have been focused on communication and Montana State Facts. The message to students has been, communication is transferring information and ideas between people and we can do that through speaking, writing, body language and behaviors. Being an active listener is an important part of communication along with being able to articulate feelings and pick up on others non verbal communication.

This past Monday, when we needed to come back with masks on, it was encouraging to see the response and participation from our Smith families and students. Thank you for your support so we can get through this surge and continue with 5 days in person instruction.
