MHS Happenings
Week of March 27th
From the Principal
Good Morning,
I hope that you are all well and that your student is ready to begin Remote Learning. We know that there are going to be some kinks as we make this transition, but we want you to know that we will work through them with you. Our goal over the next few days is for your student to go to their teacher's websites and make sure that they can access the review work that has been assigned. Please communicate any issues to your student's teacher; we are compiling this information so that we can find solutions. The most important thing to remember is that this week is only review, so if there are issues, students will not be missing any new information.
We are working with our Technology Department to re-image and sanitize laptops to get them ready for distribution to students who have internet access but do not have a device to work from. We are trying to determine our needs from the survey that was sent out from Dr. Rees. If you did not fill out the survey and need a laptop, please email one of your student's teachers or their administrator so that we can add them to the list. We will announce information on distribution of laptops very soon.
We will be distributing hard copies of assignments on Wednesday, April 1st. This will be for students who do not have access to the internet. We will follow strict safety guidelines issued by the Texas Education Agency in the preparation, the distribution, and the collection of these materials. Please notify your student's teacher or administrator if you fall into this category; we will then contact you with the time and location to pick up your materials.
I know that there are many unanswered questions during this unprecedented time; please know that we are working hard to find answers and will communicate as things develop. Right now, our primary concern is the safety and well being of our students and parents. Please try to take one day at a time and communicate with us any issues that you have pertaining to remote learning. We will get through this trying time together!
Sincerely,
Brandi Hendrix
