Board Reviews CARES Act Expenditures
The Tuscaloosa City Schools' Chief School Financial Officer Jay Duke outlined expenditures made with Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) funding before school board members Thursday night.
TCS announced that the federal funding will be used to address issues associated with the pandemic such as learning loss, mental health supports, after-school and summer learning programs as well as professional development, and more.
The money received can only be used in 15 different categories shown below.
In other action, the board:
- Approved the Minutes of November 2, 2021 Regular Board Meeting
- Received Financial Reports for October 1, 2020 - September 30, 2021 and All Reports are Reconciled w/Bank Statements through September 30, 2021
- Received CARES Act Report
- Discussed First Reading of the Auxiliary Services Lead - Dr. Cameron
- Approved Second Reading of Lead Carpenter Job Description
- Approved Robin Jackson Contract
- Approved Extreme Networks Maintenance Contract
- Approved Superintendent's Recommendation Regarding Changes in Personnel
