Fun In Learning
On February 10th, Rizzo's Wildlife World visited our school and educated the children about some special animals such as turtles, toads, chinchillas, alligators, tarantulas, and snakes. This visit was a great extension to our "Pets" unit which was the topic of the preschoolers' investigation for the month of February. During the investigation, students worked on early math concepts such as measurement, number sense, and spatial awareness, as well as literacy skills such as initial sounds and letter identification.
100th Day of School
It is hard to believe that we have been in school for 100 days already! Time flies when you have fun! On February 13th, preschool students were asked to dress as if they were 100 years old. They also received special certificates from their teachers, and made a "100th Day Mix" to practice their counting skills!
Try This!
A simple game like “Freeze Dance” is a chance for your child to develop listening skills, self-regulation, and movement skills... AND have fun while doing it!
Turn on some music and have everyone start dancing! Whenever the music is paused, everyone freezes in place. Challenge one another to freeze in a specific position like standing on one leg, making a silly face with hands in the air, or looking like a tree.
