A Message From Principal Abeal
This is a time of year to think about the importance of school attendance. Make sure your children come to school. The more students are in school, the higher their achievement. Children cannot learn if they are not in school. Reward students for their efforts, always cheer them on to work hard, do their best will encourage them to want to be in school. We are proud of our Bear Cubs, let’s notice, praise, and reward their efforts.
Assist your children in staying healthy. Reminding them to keep their hands clean is one of the most important steps you can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Eat healthy and be active. Help students be active for at least 1 hour a day. Find fun activities to keep your children moving during the winter months.
Here is a reminder about school closings and delayed openings due to inclement weather conditions. The district will be utilizing the Blackboard Mass Communication System to inform parents and guardians when the district must close its schools.
If school is closed, you may also check the following media sources:

Please do not call the School Office or Board of Education Office for information regarding early school closings to make certain telephone lines are clear.
Remember when there is going to be a delayed opening you must stay tuned for additional updates. You must be familiar with your child’s bus pick up time to have them at the bus stop 90 minutes after the usual pick-up time.
We are looking forward to spreading kindness throughout the West Belmar Community.

Student Wellness
The month of January is dedicated to the exploration of the mindset, EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE teaches that everything that exists was once an idea that someone believed was possible, and through that belief it became a reality.
Through this mindset, we learn to envision a wonderful life, expect greatness, and effectively execute the process of making dreams come true. In doing so, we plan the small steps to take every day on the road to our dreams. We embrace creativity and imaginations, look on the bright side of things, and turn mistakes or setbacks into opportunities.
4 Key Components:
- Dream Big
Embrace Creativity
Think Positive
Act and Adjust
