Words of Wisdom
II tore myself away from the safe comfort of certainties through my love for truth—and truth rewarded me.
~ Simone de Beauvoir
We can do a reasonably good job keeping ourselves physically safe. We know the precautions to take, the safety protocols to pursue, and places to avoid. Staying emotionally safe is a little different though. How do we apply these same safeguards? It begins with knowing how to value ourselves, what our boundaries are, and what are our needs in both personal and professional relationships. It's important to stay safe physically, but it's just as important to stay safe emotionally. So be true to yourself. Don’t allow yourself to be unnecessarily hurt by relationships that are emotionally damaging, even if it means tearing yourself away from comfortable certainties.
With something to think about . . .
Remember to take care of yourself.Staying safe emotionally has a lot to do with self-love. Take care to value yourself enough so that when necessary, you can tear yourself away from comfortable, yet hurtful certainties.
Happy Birthday!
