This morning the students spent time finishing their second number complete with vocals, choreography, and blocking. After less than three days, students have learned two full numbers, which is fantastic progress!
Ms. C pulled out students today for their private voice lessons, working on their choice of music. Ms. C is our Director of Health and Safety this week and has her Masters of Music Education from University of Florida and currently works as a musical director for all age groups.
After lunch, the students learned a new dance routine to "What You Want" from the musical Legally Blonde with Mr. Lacey, who is a music theatre major at Elon University and a Rock Ridge alum. This routine featured collegiate level musical choreography at a fast pace and the students brought great energy to the number!
Students finished up the day with their first full run through of the show for Friday. Students rehearsed with the performance tracks, which allowed their own vocals to shine for the first time!
Tomorrow all students should be off-book, which means that no students should be using music or lyrics to help them out while performing. Ms. Lauren has made some practice tracks for each vocal part for support. This will help them tremendously as we continue to polish vocals, choreography, and blocking for their performance!
Thank you for a great day three!
