Adulting | Making Your Money Work For You
Audience: All students

Join your fellow students for this workshop presented by alum Lawrence Sasso, MSM, CLU, ChFC, a financial services professional with over 28 years of experience. Participants will leave this workshop knowing how to create a budget and build a small emergency fund. You will also learn some basics of investing and how a small investment can grow over time. Sasso will share tips and tricks that are detailed in his upcoming book, Get In the Game: The Young Adult’s Guide to baseball, Softball, Personal Finances, and a Balanced Life.

Nomination and Application Information for Spring Emerge Program

While our fall Emerge and Engage Leadership Circles are coming to a close in a few short weeks, we are looking ahead to the spring programs!
Each year we rely on staff, faculty, and student leaders to nominate students for this introductory program. Emerge is now open to any and all students, regardless of their class status. Nominations for the Emerge Program are now open. You can nominate a student by clicking here.

If interested in Emerge, you are invited to apply; students do not need to be nominated to participate. Applications will open November 26.
Student Leader Summit

February 22-24, 2019Cape Cod
The Student Leader Summit is a weekend experience where student leaders can learn more about their personal leadership development as it relates to the Student Leadership Challenge. Students will participate in various activities that help them relate their experiences to the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership.
The Student Leader Summit is open to all members of student organizations, leadership programs, student employees of the OSILD, and those by special invitation.

Student Leader | Maribel Mateo
Student Government Association President Maribel Mateo has persisted through many struggles as a first-generation student who didn't have it easy growing up. However, she has not only survived, but thrived as a Worcester State student, and she is determined to advocate for students so that they also thrive here on campus.

Assistant Professor of English Hardeep Sidhu, who was recently appointed Director of the Ethnic Studies program, discusses the importance of creating an inclusive campus environment both inside and outside the classroom.

Kate Surprenant is a passionate leader. She is a feminist and believes you have to put your heart into the work that you do. Kate is doing just that in her many roles here on campus, including her position as Women's Basketball Captain. Kate took the time to share her beautiful perspective on leadership with us
