Patriots off to a good start

Second year of IB candidacy begins

Principal welcomes return of students

Welcome back, Preston Hollow Family!

I am proud to say we are returning from a very successful 2014-15 school year: parent involvement was incredible; we began implementation of the International Baccaleaurate program in our candidacy year; parent surveys indicated you believe Preston Hollow has a college going culture; and all STAAR testing scores increased from the previous year. We also received a special distinction from the state on our scores in Reading/Language Arts.

This year, we are beginning the school year with a renewed focus on aligning with the IB philosophy, as well as increasing student achievement in Reading and Math. We will be applying for IB authorization next month, and we will be receiving a visit from the IB organization in February to assess Preston Hollow for authorizaton as an IB World School. We are confident we will receive authorization, and look forward to sharing more about the process. We are excited you have chosen Preston Hollow as the elementary school for your children, and thank you for trusting us in preparing them for college!

Sincerely,

Tom Brandt
