IPads - Frequently Asked Questions/IPads - Preguntas frecuentes
A. Yes! Students are now using IPads everyday in classes. They need them to access digital texts and to create assignments that demonstrate learning. These new learning tools allow students to research, collaborate, and create to deepen their understanding in all subject areas.
Q. If my student leaves his or her IPad at home, should I bring it to school.
A. No. Students need to develop good routines at home so they will remember to bring their IPads to school everyday. We recommend that every student pack up his or her backpack before bed and place it near an outlet where the iPad can charge overnight. Then it will be ready to go in the morning with enough battery life to last throughout the school day.
Q. If my student forgot to charge the IPad, should they bring the charger to school.
A. No. Chargers should stay at home and be handled as little as possible. Too much winding and unwinding of the cord can create stress points that result in breakage. It is best to set up a charging station and leave the charger there.
Q. What if my student has a problem with his or her IPad.
A. Students should report any problems with the IPads to a teacher, and the teacher will be able to connect the student to the right support person to solve the problem.
Q. Should my student be updating the IPad to IOS 9.
A. Yes! Updates allow the IPad to run the most up-to-date features in all of the applications.
IPads - Preguntas frecuentes
Independent Study/Estudio independiente
If your student will be missing 5 or more days of school you can apply for independent study. You must apply at least 5 days in advance of the day you plan to take your son or daughter out of school. Your son or daughter must give all IS homework to Joanna Martin or Nancy Janeck the day they return to Kenilworth from IS. The work is graded and the student gets credit for days missed based on the quality of their work.
