First Week of Class
US History Newsletter
Hello!
About Me
I am Ms. McCord. I graduated from Indiana University, and received my Master's degree from Ball State University. I have lived in Yorktown practically my entire life. I love the small town feel, and how welcoming our community is to the changing educational system. I am incredibly excited to be back teaching where I went to school. I look forward to working with your children and inspiring them in the same way my teachers did.

Expectations
I expect every student to treat each other with respect. In other words treat each other how he/she would want to be treated. I am a firm believer that a positive attitude makes the learning experience so much better. When I am talking I expect students to give me the same respect that I give them by not talking while I am talking. I want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable in my classroom, and I will not tolerate anything that challenges this atmosphere.

Schedule For the Week
This week in class the students and myself are going to get to know each other better by playing three truths and one lie. This is a fun interactive game that allows me and the students to become more familiar and comfortable with one another. I am sure your children will come up with some elaborate lies to tell. I will review a brief overview of what the students are going to learn this year, class expectations, and the syllabus. If you have any questions regarding any the information I cover with your children feel free to send me an email or call me at my school phone number. I look forward to working with your children this year, and am excited to teach them about United States History.
