Roadrunner Ramp Weekly
News from Arbor View Elementary School: May 25, 2021
A year like no other!
A year like no other is so true. Although it was different, Roadrunners chose to look at the silver lining in everything. You chose to make the best of your Zoom calls, be engaged in remote learning, be positive while we moved through hybrid learning and remote pauses, and always ready to jump the next hurdle.
I am so proud to be called a Roadrunner along with all of you - especially this year. The positivity, enthusiasm, and strong community came out more than ever in 2020-2021. You and your friends banded together, even though sometimes it was just through Zoom. Though we were in a worldwide pandemic, Roadrunners were strong and made the best of everything.
Have a wonderful summer Roadrunners!

Technology turn-in
At the end of the school year, students will be turning in their district-issued Chromebooks and iPads. Students attending CCSD 89 summer school will keep their technology, so it can be used for summer classes. (Second-grade students will keep their Chromebooks if attending summer school. They will turn in their iPad.) In-person learners will turn in their technology, charging cords, and carrying case/bag on the last day of school, Tuesday, May 25.
Remote learners need to come to Arbor View to turn in these items on Wednesday, May 26 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. If remote learners are not able to turn in technology on May 26, please call the main office to make alternate arrangements. Report cards and MAP scores will not be released until the technology is turned in.
We also ask families to check at home for library books or other school materials including whiteboards that need to be turned in. Teachers will be collecting these through the end of the school year.
Families who need remote learning in 2021-22 must request form by May 25
CCSD 89 families can plan for a return to a traditional schedule with five full days of in-person learning during the 2021-22 school year. Remote learning will only be available next school year to students who have certification from their physician that they require a medical exemption. Families must request the medical exemption form from the principal or school nurse by Tuesday, May 25. The form requires a physician to certify the student’s medical need. The completed form must be returned to the district office (22W600 Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn) by June 25. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3hDrRFE
