Why Teach Children How to Code?
Coding helps children learn math, have a growth mindset, and persevere to solve problems. Learning to code fosters communication skills, creativity, writing and confidence. Please see the attached flyer for an excellent opportunity to explore coding as a family. On December 10th, tune into your local PBS station for an hour of code from 7-8 PM.

EQUITY UPDATE AND RESOURCES
There is a lot in this resource so I decided to keep it in the letter one more week. The link below provides a selection of multi-cultural and social justice books for children, young adults and educators. In addition, it offers a guide and toolkit for selecting ant-bias children's books.

BOOK FAIR
GAE is having an Online Follett Book Fair! You may purchase books now and until 12/7. With all of the time students are spending on devices, this is the perfect way to get books in their hands, minds, and hearts. Share the link with relatives, and they will be able to purchase books off of your child’s wish list as holiday gifts. Follett now offers direct to home delivery, with free shipping on all orders over $25.00 (All books orders will be shipped to individual homes). Please consider supporting the GAE Library, as the book fair is an important factor in maintaining a fresh and current collection.
