Family Newsletter
5/29/22
Awww, the end of the year is always bittersweet. I am so proud of all that we have done this year. There were many challenges and we couldn't have done it without our amazing staff and you awesome parents! The home-school partnership has been essential the past two years as you were teachers too. I am so grateful for everyone and all that they did. Our children are happy and healthy and it is because our school community came together during the toughest two years in education.
Special thank you to PTO who organized our 5th grade celebration (Kristi Conroy), Cardinals- Robinson Night at the Ballpark (thank you Carrie Ernst) and organized our end of year staff luncheon (thank you Martha Heisner and Ashley Rodemann). Thank you for putting these wonderful events together for our staff, students, and families. PTO thank you for the amazing work you put in all year to make the school year special and memorable. I appreciate you all!
I hope you all are able to relax and enjoy the summer. We do have events this summer to stay connected for those who choose to. There is a LOT of construction going on at Robinson. We are hoping to get most of it done before summer school begins on July 11th. If you are coming up to the building, please ring the front bell and we are happy to welcome you in!
This is our end of year newsletter and I will send a June newsletter the first Sunday in June. You will get a July newsletter the first Sunday of July. Then an August newsletter the first Sunday of August. I will resume weekly communication on Sunday, August 21st.
Thank you for an amazing 21-22 school year. My first two years at Robinson and my first two years as a principal have been great! I truly couldn't have done it without such a supportive school community. I appreciate everything and look forward to serving our students in 22-23. We will have an awesome school year and I am really looking forward to what our future brings. Enjoy the summer, I will miss the kids!
Please reach out at any time to share any questions, concerns, or ideas. I am here to help and support you and your family. Thanks for all you do to help keep our students and staff safe.

Updated Nurses' Note below
Here are a few things to remember for the start of the next school year, and items you can do ahead to prepare.
Immunizations
As your child goes to the doctor this summer, for check ups, and sports physical, please also talk to the doctor about any immunizations that may be needed for school. By school guidelines, all Immunizations need to be completed in order to attend school.
Health Action Plans-
If your child has any medical issues (Asthma, Diabetes, Food Allergies, Seizures) or any medical issues that may require additional support, please get those action plans from your doctor. The Doctor offices are aware of these Action plans and can print them out.
Medications taken at School-
If your child will be taking medication at school, during school hours, they will need a medication permission form filled out. A medication form will also be needed for over the counter medication. All medication needs to be in the original bottle, container, or box, with the student's name on it. (this also includes inhalers, need to be in the original box) Check expirations dates, so no medication is expired. If you can get one that does not expire at the end of the school year, that helps so you do not need to replace it half way through the year.
You may start sending paperwork into school, Via email, or drop off at the school through the summer, with my name on it. If you have any questions, please email me, and let me know.
Thank you, and have a great summer,
Nurse Cyndi

Robinson PTO Board Needs Volunteers for 22-23 School Year
All open board positions are "elect" positions which means you will work alongside the current board member for a year before transitioning into the role. We recognize many of us are stretched thin in life and couldn't imagine carving out any extra time. But this type of community service really is rewarding especially when you see the joy on our students' and teachers' faces.
If we have a strong, diverse team we can strike a balance with time commitment and will be more successful at building a Robinson community that is connected, engaging and enriched!
All are welcome! Please contact us as robinsonpto@kirkwoodschools.org if you would like to hear more or are interested in joining our Board.
