CHS CAMPUS BUZZ
Parent/Student Edition ~ Issue 5 ~ Aug. 29-Sept. 2, 2022
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Each department at CHS created a team resume in the first month of school to showcase facts about the department, belief statements, and their vision. We decided to create a school-wide team resume to share with our students ands families about how awesome our CHS staff is and to highlight the wealth of experience and impact that has been made collectively by our school family!
We hope everyone will enjoy seeing the great impact that has been made and is continuing to be made by CHS staff doing what they love! ❤️
GA MILESTONE UPDATE (EOC TESTING)
Last week, students who took EOC exams last year were given score reports to take home and share with parents. The Georgia Milestones Assessment System spans grades 3 through high school and measure how well students have learned the knowledge and skills outlined in the state content standards in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. Georgia Milestones provides information about each student's achievement and readiness for his or her next level of learning—be it the next grade, course, or endeavor such as college or career.
The four achievement levels on Georgia Milestones are Beginning Learner, Developing Learner, Proficient Learner, and Distinguished Learner. The general meaning of each of the four levels is provided below:
Beginning Learners do not yet demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge and skills necessary at this grade level/course of learning, as specified in Georgia’s content standards. The students need substantial academic support to be prepared for the next grade level or course and to be on track for college and career readiness.
Developing Learners demonstrate partial proficiency in the knowledge and skills necessary at this grade level/course of learning, as specified in Georgia’s content standards. The students need additional academic support to ensure success in the next grade level or course and to be on track for college and career readiness.
Proficient Learners demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge and skills necessary at this grade level/course of learning, as specified in Georgia’s content standards. The students are prepared for the next grade level or course and are on track for college and career readiness.
Distinguished Learners demonstrate advanced proficiency in the knowledge and skills necessary at this grade level/course of learning, as specified in Georgia’s content standards. The students are well prepared for the next grade level or course and are well prepared for college and career readiness.
