It is my privilege to welcome you to another fabulous year here at CCMS! I am excited to get to know our newest students and reconnect with returning 7th and 8th graders. Let's make this year count! We are ALL responsible for the academic, social and emotional success of our students. Let's work together to develop inspired learners, confident collaborators, unrelenting problem solvers, and empathetic human beings. It is all very possible.
THANKS FOR JOINING US AT CAMP PANTHER AND PARENT BOOTCAMP!
EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENTS!
Invest in our students and join the CCMS 100 Campaign today!
This year, CCMS PTSA and Panther Partners (booster club) are launching the CCMS 100 CAMPAIGN. The Campaign's goal is to raise $100,000 in 100 days with 100% participation from CCMS families. But we need your help!
We are asking each CCMS family to make a donation - and help us reach all three goals! We ask each family to give meaningfully - all contributions, of any amount, are great appreciated. There is no minimum amount, and every dollar counts!
100% of your donation will stay at our school to be used by both PTSA and Panther Partners to fund a lengthy list of programs such as Athletics, Improv, Panther Prep, AVID, Field Trips, Student Recognition, Music Instruction, GATE, WEB, Teacher Scholarships, Technology Purchases, After School Enrichment, Robotics Team, Eighth Grade Activities, Camp Panther, and Registration.
This year the PTSA will not run any other fundraisers and will rely solely on your contributions to fund our programs. In order to provide quality experiences for our 1,700 students, we must raise $100,000. Please give generously today - donate at: PTSA & Panther Partners Annual Giving Campaign Thank you!
Join us for the PTSA Welcome Coffee!
Come join the CCMS PTSA for coffee and conversation on the front lawn on the first day of school! This is a great opportunity to meet old friends, and make some new ones. At CCMS we’re all about building community, so find a place to park and spend some time with us. 7:30am - 9:30am on August 22.
6th Grade Dance & Parent Mixer (Hosted by WEB)
Save the Date: Friday, September 6th, from 5-7pm at CCMS.
Help CCMS by volunteering in the CCMS Student Store!
The CCMS Student Store is an extremely important source of revenue for the PTSA - and a great way to get a peek into what's happening with CCMS students during their lunch hour and right after school! So why not volunteer to work the CCMS Student Store?! It's open daily for students to buy snacks at lunch and after school, PE clothes, and Spirit Wear and we need lots of parents to staff it. Please take advantage of this chance to be on campus and volunteer today! Sign up here!

Drop offs and parking at CCMS
Avoid getting stuck in Braddock and Elenda traffic by walking, biking or skating to school. If you must drive your student to school, please consider the following:
For drop-offs: We recommend that you use the bridge entrance on Ocean Drive (off Overland) to drop off your student. Your student can then walk across the bridge and head directly into the Middle School.
For parking: Since the school lot will only be accessible to CCUSD personnel, we encourage you to park and walk or, better yet, take on our 3 Block Challenge. Park near Coombs or Vets Park and enjoy a lovely morning walk.
The optimal solution: Walk, bike, skate, or roll to school. We have a lovely bike rack to secure your bike, skateboard or scooter. Please make sure you bring your locking device with you! We are a proud Green Ribbon school and welcome all our students and families to enjoy the health and wellness benefits of a little exercise in the morning, and get the added bonus of helping to minimize our environmental impact!

Registration for Sports
There are two parts to registering and clearing your child for after-school athletics:
1. Medical Clearance: All students are required to provide a current physical exam taken within the last year before participating in any after-school sports or athletic activity. No student will be allowed to participate in games, meets, matches, practices, or tryouts without a current physical exam. An exam is valid for a full calendar year.
2. Donations: While the school district contributes some funds to pay for coaches, the overwhelming majority of funding, including equipment and uniforms, comes from donations to the athletics program. Without sufficient parent donations, we will be unable to maintain the depth and breadth of our current athletic offerings, which are the deepest and widest of any public school in this region. The recommended donation is of $100 per child for each season and each sport in which your child participates. If you are unable to make a $100 donation for your child this season, please donate the amount that you can. If you can afford to donate more than the suggested amount, please do so.
You will receive an automated email to the address you provide notifying you upon completion of these two requirements. You will receive a second email notifying you that the physical exam form is complete and approved for clearance by the School District. This second email may be sent a week or two after your initial upload, depending on the number of clearance requests received; however, every effort will be made to review your physical exam forms in a timely manner. Upon receipt of the second email, notifying you of successful clearance and registration, your child is free to participate in all after school athletic activities for a full calendar year following the date of approval.
